Mores points for Seeley at Oulton Park BSB

Relentless by TAS Suzuki rider Alastair Seeley left the Oulton Park third round on the BSB Championship in fifth place.

In race one it was Seeley who looked odds-on for his second BSB podium of the year on the GSX-R1000 Superbike , but a missed gear on the final lap allowed John Laverty to steal his thunder, which left the Carrickfergus man to narrowly pip his team-mate to the line for fourth.

In race two, while Laverty was soloing to a superb victory, Seeley fought his way through from mid-pack to take 10 valuable points in sixth place.

Alastair Seeley:

"I am a bit frustrated about not getting on the podium in race one, but there's no point in moaning about it. I missed a gear and fought back to fourth so we have to be pleased with that after a tough weekend at the previous round. In race two, I spun up going off the line and ended up bashing bars and fairings mid-pack. I got my head down and just tried to be smooth on the throttle and when I got onto the back of Josh Brookes he was all over the place. His tyre was obviously in worse condition than mine at that stage, so to get past for sixth was a good result in difficult conditions. I'm learning all the time about this Superbike and I've stayed fit and healthy with the North West 200 just over a week away - so that's a big positive."

Climb every mountain

Knox racers end season on a high note

KNOX protected racers have completed the 2009 season in top positions. First Alastair Seeley was crowned 2009 British Superstock Champion on the TAS Relentless Suzuki GSX-R1000. In British Superbikes James Ellison was runner up to Airwaves Yamaha teammate Leon Camier. Meanwhile in the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Cup for 600cc machines Co-ordit Performance rider Sam Lowes (pictured) delivered the goods at the final round by taking all 25 points for the race win to secure the 2009 crown at Oulton Park.

More wins for Knox riders in BSB at Brands

Knox protected riders were back on the podium at Brands Hatch at Round 8 of the MCE British Superbike Championship. In the British National Superstock 1000cc class Alastair Seeley continued his phenomenal run of success with his eighth consecutive victory for Relentless Suzuki. In the two-part race, which was red flagged twice, Seeley led both, not only setting a new Superstock lap record but also dipping under the European Superstock record by almost a second. Meanwhile in the Supersport 600 class James Westmorland took the win on his Triumph, elevating him to 4th place in the Championship, just 28 points behind series leader Steve Plater. James Ellison was in the top six finishers in all 3 Superbike races at Brands, where they ran an extra race on the Saturday, rounding off the weekend with third place on the podium on the Sunday. This consolidates his second place in the BSB standings, behind teammate Leon Camier and comfortably ahead of third placed Stuart Easton on the Hydrex Honda.

More podiums for Knox racers on road and track

Relentless Suzuki's Alastair Seeley continued his remarkable run of race wins in the British National 1000cc Superstock class at Knockhill. So far this season the Carrickfergus rider has taken seven wins from seven startson his 2009 GSX-R1000 . Once again the vaue of Knox protection was demonstrated, when Seeley picked himself up after a high-speed qualifying crash.

Meanwhile Keith Amor's winning streak continued on the roads, when he took two victories at the demanding Skerries 100 road races. Riding the Wilson Craig Honda Superbike, Amor crossed the line first in both the Open and Grand Final races, adding a solid third in the Supersport 600cc race to his podiums on the day.

Back on Track, James Ellison of Airwaves Yamaha scored a solid 5th and 3rd in the Superbike races, consolidating his second place position in the ViSK championship.

Planet Knox has a new Premier Dealer in Northern Ireland and the company directors travelled across the Irish Sea to join in the celebrations for Phillip McCallen's open day in Lisburn. McCallen is third in the list of all-time Isle of Man TT winners, with 11 race victories, including an unequalled four races in one week in 1996. McCallen also won 5 wins from 6 starts at the 1992 North West 200, and 5 wins in one day at the 1996 Ulster Grand Prix.

Now retired from racing, Phillip has opened a motorcycle superstore retailing Triumph, Kawasaki and KTM motorcycles.

The highlight of his grand opening was a free stunt show by Kevin Carmichael - a personal friend of Phillip and is a former world champion. Kevin performs on a wide range of Triumph motorcycles, including wheelies on the 2300cc Rocket3, and wears Triumph clothing incorporating Knox CE protectors.
